Interesting thought about encoding.

As best as I can determine, the encoding using EditPad Lite is Windows 1252: Western European. Not sure if this is ascii or other type.

Looked for plain old ascii in the Encoding options but didn’t find it.

May be you can tell me?

I tried the MemNum with a letter to begin the number but the same results.

At least I was able to populate the database from the CSV file, although I was curious about why the comma (,) was required.

I am going to try Notepad to load as save the file without the comma to see if that’s the problem.

I was having trouble with importing a CSV field.

The Database didn’t want to pick up the first field.

Thought I wasn’t matching the field name in the CSV with Access DB, but I was.

I have worked with CSV import before but it wasn’t until I put a comma as the first character that I got the first field to import (all others imported fine).

So apparently the format I must use looks like this:

Is this a flaw in the import function?

Hi Thanks for your answer,

Our ERP is also written in Delphi. This function is very useful to give the user an indication of the say " status " of a product etc. And with the possibility to sort on a status makes selection quite handy.

Have you considered using the Article object ? … it can handle text (e.g. csv) files as well …

SetObjectFileName "Article1" "[PubDir]sample1.csv"



You can choose Word wrap, Scrollbars and Font settings.

And no worries about user trying to make changes.

Hello.

I was wondering if there is anyway to change the text fields color when you select the option of STATUS= visible(ticked) but enable (off)

Why? Because i have some text fields that get populated by cvs file and i dont want anyone to "ADD" to these fields.When i untick ‘enable’ that accomplishes what i need but the text goes GREY and is a bit hard to see.

Can this font be made BLACK OR….is there a way to stop anyone typing into these populated fields(they vary in length foe each in the list).

Look at using an "onchange" subroutine. Add the name of the sub at the end of the create or opentable actions.

Is it possible to add a "calculated" field to an Access Db?

Example:

I have a table with the fields Quantity and Unit Price and Total

When I adjust either Quantity and Unit Price field the Total field should update automatically without using dbpSaveEdits

Is this possible?

I would like to know how to create a listbox object with content of 2 or more fields from access database.

Ex: ListBox contains:

ID, Name, Phone

* Another thing about dbfind. Is possible to show only results with dbfind and not only to be positioned to the first recor finded??.

You can use the dbpPopupValueList action. For example:

dbpPopupValueList "Database" "Table" "ID" "ID;Name;Phone" "Left=8;Top=200;Width=158;RowCount=20" "[Result]"

May be you have to use :

insert into user as select * from other

That is another way to transport from one database to the other.
