My anti-virus program says your software contains a virus

Solution

If your anti-virus software is flagging any of our software titles as containing a virus or trojan, it is a false positive. Our software contains no viruses or trojans.

If this is the case, you have 3 options:

- Update the virus definitions for your anti-virus software. Although somewhat rare, false positives do happen and are almost always fixed by keeping the virus definitions up-to-date.

- Temporarily disable the anti-virus program. Then download and install the software. Be sure to turn the anti-virus program back on afterward so you are protected.

- Most anti-virus software will allow you to add files to a "white" or "ignore" list. Add the setup file to this list and you won't get any more alerts for that file. Read the help file for the program to learn how to do this.
